Latest on Pau Cubarsi after Barcelona defender picks up knee injury against Newcastle

Barcelona have been hit with another injury concern after Pau Cubarsi picked up a knee injury during Thursday’s win over Newcastle in the Champions League.
The defender was replaced by Andreas Christensen for the last 20 minutes, but the early signs suggest it’s not a serious problem.
According to Cope’s Helena Condis, Cubarsi is “experiencing discomfort in the patellar tendon of the left knee” but could still be available for Sunday’s La Liga match against Getafe.
Yet Condis also says that Hansi Flick could err on the side of caution and decide to rest Cubarsi for that match due to the knock.
Christensen is certainly an option to come into the team at the weekend. The Dane has admitted he’s feeling “100%” again after struggling with injury and is eager to stay at Barcelona.
Flick’s side have another busy week ahead as they play three matches in seven days in La Liga against Getafe, Real Oviedo and Real Sociedad.
