Hansi Flick and Barcelona fuming after losing Raphinha to injury

Barcelona and Hansi Flick have been left fuming by news that Raphinha has been ruled out for five weeks due to an injury sustained while playing for Brazil in a friendly against France in the United States.

According to Diario Sport, there is “total incomprehension” at the situation. The club are furious that Raphinha had to take a “marathon” trip to play a “meaningless” game at a decisive point in the season.

Raphinha has had his injury problems this season and Barca are therefore finding it difficult to understand why he started friendly across the Atlantic for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Flick has already been riled by the way some international teams have treated his players this season, and Raphinha’s setback is said to now be “the straw that breaks the camel’s back.”

Barcelona may well receive compensation from FIFA for Raphinha’s injury but that will matter little to the Catalans ahead of some crucial games in La Liga and the Champions League.
