USMNT goalkeeper Diego Kochen in talks to leave Barcelona on loan for surprise club
Goalkeeper Diego Kochen is reportedly in talks to leave Barcelona on loan ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The 19-year-old has held discussions with Danish club Lyngby about joining the club for next season in a bid to gain competitive minutes, according to Cadena SER.
Kochen has been with Barcelona Atletic but the feeling at the club is he needs to be playing at a higher level to continue his development which means a loan looks to be the best option.
There’s no clear pathway into the first team at present as Hansi Flick has Joan Garcia as his first choice, Wojciech Szczęsny as back-up and must also decide what to do with Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Inaki Pena and Áron Yaakobishvili.
Kochen does have other offers but is reportedly tempted by the proposal put forward by Lyngby. The club have just been promoted back to the Danish Superliga and would offer Kochen a leading role on the team.
