Barcelona make bid for Ukrainian star winger, close to deal -- report
Apparently Barcelona have already moved on from the Pedro Era and found a replacement for the former 'MSN' backup.
According to a report from Diario Sport, the Catalan giants have made a €20 million offer for Dynamo Kyiv star Andryi Yarmolenko, a 25-year-old winger who is widely considered to be the best player of Ukraine's Premier League. He has been heavily linked with a move to the English Premier League, with Arsenal and Everton being rumored as potential landing spots. None of the teams were able to strike a deal, however, mainly because -- always according to the report -- Yarmolenko wants to sign for the Blaugrana.
So Barça went and made an official offer for his signing, and there is already a deal in place between the Treble winners and the player, allegedly. The club wants to get a little more money out of the talks by getting a €25 million fee instead, but because Yarmolenko is clearly on board with a move away from Ukraine, there is a good chance the deal goes through with the initial price offered by the La Liga holders.
Both teams want to close the deal until Friday, two days before the transfer window deadline. If signed, Yarmolenko will join the Blaugranes and be on the sidelines until January, once the transfer ban ends.
