Busquets on Spanish Super Cup: "No excuses, we have to give our all"

After enduring a historical 120-minute battle against Sevilla less than three days ago, Barcelona have another final ahead, and it starts on Friday, at San Mamés, facing the always tough Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup. Exhaustion from last Tuesday's battle could become an excuse if the Blaugrana don't perform at their best. To a team captain, it's not.

Sergio Busquets spoke to the press before the trip to Bilbao and said very clearly that the team could be tired, but still has to give their best effort on Friday's match to get a good result and take the trophy next Monday. The Blaugrana midfielder also celebrated being able to play the second leg at home, and also touched on the situation of teammate Pedro Rodríguez, who is still unclear about his future. Here's a few highlights from his presser:

"We are playing at a tough ground, San Mamés, and we have to give our all without excuses.

"Tactically we know each other well, because we have played a lot matches and finals in recent years and this is no different." He also added that he expected an Athletic side who will be "intense, hard working tactically and physically, and who have quality young players.

"It’s better to have the second leg at home. Nothing would be decided in the first 90 minutes.

"Pedro, like any player, wants minutes on the field. From the first day to the last will given everything for the team as he has always done. I hope he stays."
