Lionel Messi foundation donates half million dollars to UNICEF

Lionel Messi is the best football player of all time, and that would be enough for Barcelona fans. But on top of being so great on the pitch, he is even greater away from it.

UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, which is a Barça partner, held an event in Argentine TV called "A sun for the kids", to help raise funds for the organization's efforts in South America. Argentina's most famous son made a surprise apperance, and changed everyone's day.

Unable to attend the event in person due to his Barça duties, he recorded a video with a simple message: "It's a pleasure to be with you all through this video, collaborating with the people of UNICEF."

But Messi didn't just talk, he acted. And donated half a million dollars in the name of his foundation:
