The Barça midfielder pointed out that the side are fully focused for the upcoming challenges: the start of the league season and the World Club Cup

Just a day after losing on his first Spanish Super Cup in a Barça shirt, Ivan Rakitic has shown himself to be confident that the team can put it behind them ahead of Sunday’s first game in the 2015/16 league campaign. “Now it is time to wait for the league to start on Sunday, we are focused and we want that fifth trophy [World Club Cup], but we have to go little by little.” On the subject, the Croatian added, “we have won four out of five trophies and we should be proud of what we are doing.”

“Nobody wanted to win the six trophies more than us, but we were up against a strong side and we have to congratulate Athletic,” pointed out Rakitic in a promotional event on Tuesday in Barcelona.

Rakitic also commented on a possible ban for Gerard Piqué following his sending off in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup final: “I am worried because Piqué is a very important player for us. A sending off like that, I am sure he did not mean anything he said, it’s just tension. If that is a dismissal then in every game there will be a lot of red cards. I hope there is not a long ban.”
