Sevilla coach Unai Emery: "If I have to play at center-back, I'll do it"
As we get closer to the UEFA Super Cup encounter between Barcelona and Sevilla, one of the hottest topics regarding the game is the wave of injuries to the Rojiblancos and their defensive system. But coach Unai Emery is not that worried.
The manager spoke at a press conference in Tbilisi, Georgia before Tuesday's match, and he was asked about not having his three center-backs, Adil Rami, Timothée Kolodziejczak and Daniel Carriço out due to physical problems. While those absences are important, Emery still thinks his team can overcome all problems since this is a one-game final, and the effort from the substitutes could prove fundamental to the final result.
He also complimented Barcelona and their offensive options, but believes his team is good enough to take home the trophy in this Spanish final. Here's a few highlights of his conference:
"The final is only for the few and tomorrow we want to take advantage of the chance to play against a great side. Barça are favourites but we have a chance and we will work hard to overcome them.
"When they have the ball we have to be able to work hard and take advantage of the moments when we are on top, which won’t be much, but we have the players to do that.
"Neymar's absence? With players like Pedro, Barça potential is still great."
"If I have to play at centre back then I will to help the team because there is a trophy at stake."
