Barcelona told they must pay €50m for Arthur
The club want full value for their star man
Barcelona have been warned they will not be able to land Arthur on the cheap and will have to pay his full release clause if they are to bring him to Camp Nou.
The Brazilian appears to be one of Barca’s top targets with reports claiming the club are keen to negotiate a fee, but Gremio are having none of it.
"Gremio renewed Arthur's contract for three years, his clause is €50 million and we do not plan to sell for less," said Gremio vice-president Odorico Roman."If Barca come with an offer of 25 or 30 million euros, Arthur will not go for that money."From the press, we know that there is also interest from Chelsea, Inter and Real Madrid."Source | Cope
It’s no surprise that Gremio want as much as they can get for Arthur, and it’s unclear if there is interest from other clubs, or if they are simply trying to drive up the price.
However, if Barca really do want to bring him in, it seems they may have to spend more than they thought.
