Celta ‘in contact’ with Rafinha but play down talk of Denis Suarez move

Celta Vigo sporting director Felipe Minambres has said that the club are in contact with Rafinha over a move but has played down talk of a deal for Denis Suarez.

Having signed Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona’s focus has now shifted to trimming the squad and Rafinha is one of a host of players who could leave this winter.

Rafinha is fit again after a long spell out with injury and appears to be a target for Juan Carlos Unzue’s side.

“We are in contact with Rafinha,” he said.

”There are options and we want to advance them in the coming days.”

Minambres also spoke about Denis Suarez but did not seem to think a move for the midfielder was likely to happen.

“I think it’s very complicated,” he explained. “They are difficult situations.

”Independent of the Coutinho signing, Denis has a lot of quality and I’m sure he will keep getting minutes at Barcelona.”

Denis has made 10 La Liga appearances this season, with two goals and two assists, but only three of those have been starts.
