Former FC Barcelona Goalkeeper Victor Valdés Seemingly Confirms Retirement
Valdés has not been with a club this season
Victor Valdés, who played for FC Barcelona for 12 years and won the Champions League three times, among many honors, has seemingly confirmed his retirement.
The keeper had been without a club since leaving Middlesbrough in July of last year. Reports had said he had retired then, but neither the keeper nor his agent confirmed it.
Recenetly, Valdés posted an image to his Instagram saying “Thanks for everything” before deleting all his pictures. He also deleted his Twitter.
He had previously told Colombian TV station RCN, "I hope that when the light turns off, it will be difficult to find me."
One of the keeper’s former teammates, Borussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra, tweeted out that “one of the best keepers in the world has announced his retirement.”
