OFFICIAL: Arda Turan leaves Barcelona for Basaksehir loan
Barcelona have confirmed they have agreed a loan deal with Turkish side Basaksehir for midfielder Arda Turan.
"FC Barcelona and Istanbul Basaksehir FK agree on loan deal for the Turkish player for the remainder of the season and two more," the club said via their official website.
Which doesn’t really give us much details on the move, but ESPN’s Barcelona correspondent Sam Marsden has the low-down on the deal.
To be clear:
— Samuel Marsden (@samuelmarsden) January 13, 2018
- Arda Turan joins Ä°stanbul BaÅŸakÅŸehi on two-and-a-half year loan
- BaÅŸakÅŸehi pay wages
- Barça will be paid in variables dependent on how Arda does/how often he plays
- Barça maintain the right to sell him during remainder of contract (2020)
So Arda is moving on a loan deal that takes him up to the end of his current Barcelona contract. However, the club can stilll sell him, and receive a transfer fee, during that time.
They have, however, removed his considerable salary from the wage bill and will also receive “variables” from Basaksehir during his time at his new club.
