Revealed: Hansi Flick sends WhatsApp message to Barcelona target Julian Alvarez

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has reportedly been in touch with Julian Alvarez during the World Cup to reassure the forward his club will do all they can to recruit the Argentina international this summer.

Alvarez went public with his desire to leave Atletico Madrid during the tournament, with Barcelona having made the forward their top transfer target following the departure of Robert Lewandowski.

Atletico really don’t want to sell Alvarez, particularly to La Liga rivals Barcelona, but Flick has told the attacker to be patient, according to Marca’s Pedro Morata.

“Trust in us. We’re going to be there fighting for your signing as far as we can,” he is said to have messaged Alvarez via WhatsApp.

Alvarez is currently focused on a World Cup semi-final against Switzerland on Sunday in Kansas. Barcelona are reportedly set to make a fresh offer for the Atletico man after the conclusion of the tournament.
