The line up is as follows: Marco Bizot; Massadio Haidara, Brendan Chardonnet, Julien Le Cardinal, Kenny Lala; Hugo Magnetti, Mahdi Camara; Edimilson Fernandes; Abdallah Sima, Ludovic Ajorque, Kamory Doumbia.
Other notes written on the board tell Brest to: “manage the ball in possession” and “press high to force Barcelona wide in order to disconnect Lewandowski and manage depth.”
Brest boss Eric Roy has also told his players to “close off the wing with with one midfielder and the opposing winger” and “press the moment of the pass = pushing higher up.”
Roy did speak about his team’s tactics at his pre-match press conference as well as admitting his team face a “wounded animal” in Barcelona.
“We want to cause issues and put on a show. If we have the ball 20% of the time, it will be difficult to express ourselves. We don’t want to be a reactive team. Maybe Barca forces us to, but our will is to create problems for them,” he said.
“We have three important absences, but we will try to get ahead. We have a clear idea of what we are going to do. The problem is that we don’t win games on the board.
“We know how they play. But then you have to be very precise with your passes. They are very vertical and attack in depth. If we are not able to anticipate that, we will have problems.”
