Rumors: Barcelona still going for Griezmann, Arthur deal close plus Oriol Busquets, Vidal & Munir

Barca want Griezmann as part of a ‘super-team’

Today’s rumors begin with news from Mundo Deportivo that Barcelona remain determined to sign Antoine Griezmann in the summer as they look to build a ‘super-team.’

The club are aware their rivals, both home and in Europe, will spend big this summer and think that €100m is a great price for Griezmann.

Along with Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, Barca think Griezmann will help create another superstar side.

Barca to sign Arthur for €30m

Meanwhile, over at Sport the news is that Barcelona are finally closing in on a move for Gremio midfielder Arthur.

Arthur’s release clause is €50 million and Barcelona have already made an offer of €30 million.

However, they may have to up that offer to €36m if they are to finally land the Brazilian, who is likely to stay with Gremio until at least the end of the World Cup.

Oriol Busquets set for renewal

Oriol Busquets is set for a new Barcelona deal and the club are set to meet with the player to discuss extending his contract, so say Marca.

The midfielder’s current deal expires in June, which means Barca are vulnerable to approaches from other clubs, but fortunately the player’s preference is to stay.

Barca now need to get a move on and firm that interest up by getting Busquets to sign on the dotted line.

New deal for Munir

Another player who is set to be handed a shiny new contract is Munir, who is currently on loan at Alaves.

According to CatRadio (via Sport) Barca will hand him a new deal, even though his current contract runs until summer 2019.

Munir is having a decent season at Alaves but Barcelona think they will have more power when it comes to selling him if he has more time left on his contract.

Vidal to stay after rejecting Roma

And finally today we end with news that Barcelona’s January transfer business is done with Aleix Vidal set to stay, despite interest from Roma.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Roma renewed their interest with Edin Dzeko now expected to stay at the club after Chelsea dropped their interest in the striker.

Vidal was willing to leave but Roma are unable to match his wages and the 28-year-old is not prepared to take a pay-cut.
