No La Masia graduates in Barca team for first time in 16 years
Ernesto Valverde made huge changes to his team for Tuesday’s trip to Celta Vigo and notably the team contained not a single La Masia graduate for the first time in 16 years.
Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta weren’t even in the squad while Lionel Messi and Sergi Roberto were on the bench.
The nearest thing Barcelona had to a homegrown player was Denis Suarez, who played for Barcelona B but was at Celta and Manchester City before heading to the Camp Nou.
No La Masia players for the first time in 16 years this evening for Barcelona.

It was a very experimental team with a completely new backline of Semedo, Mina, Vermaelen and Digne. Paulinho and Andre Gomes featured in midfield with Denis with Coutinho, Alcacer and Demble in attack. Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen captained the team.
A glimpse of the future?
