Barcelona say they have ‘complete confidence’ in Valverde

The boss has been backed

Barcelona CEO Oscar Grau says manager Ernesto Valverde has the complete backing of the club.

Grau was talking at a new conference on Tuesday where the club presented their annual accounts for the 2017/18 season and the budget for the 2018/19.

“There’s complete confidence in Valverde,” he said.

“The season’s long, don’t forget. We are confident that we will achieve our objectives.”

Barcelona also confirmed they expect a revenue of €960m this season and detailed salary costs.

There’s a lot of focus on Valverde at the moment after three games without a win and some poor performances, and the pressure will be on to get a win against Tottenham on Wednesday.
