Aleña says changes aren’t an excuse for Levante loss
The midfielder spok about the Copa del Rey defeat
Carles Aleña had some words for Barcelona supporters and team after their 2-1 loss to Levante in the Copa this week. The squad looked lackadaisical in the defeat, bringing Aleña to talk about not having excuses amidst the changes that have taken place.
“It’s important to start well and be focused from the beginning in these type of games, but we went out asleep and we paid quickly for that,” he said.
“[We] didn’t play well, but there are 90 minutes left in the tie and, without doubt, the game [at Camp Nou] will be long for Levante.
“You can tell we’ve not played games together, but we train every day and we know each other,” he said. “It’s not an excuse. The reality is we didn’t play well, rotations aren’t an excuse.”
