Rumors: Barca willing to sell Malcom, Spurs keen on loan
The gossip is hotting up after Copa del Rey squad omission
Malcom’s future at Barcelona seems to have been thrust into some considerable doubt with a raft of rumors about the Brazilian emerging.
According to ESPN, Barca will sell if a team betters the €41 million they splashed out on the youngster just last summer.
The report reckons Ernesto Valverde never really wanted Malcom in the first place, and Barcelona are considering selling before the winger’s value decreases any more.
Malcom has made it pretty clear this season that playing for Barca is his dream, but it seems he’s starting to accept an exit may be on the cards.
Meanwhile, Sport are reporting that a January exit is “close” and that Barcelona are in talks with Tottenham over a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option.
Spurs have a few issues in attack currently, as captain Harry Kane has been ruled out until March with ankle trouble, while Heung-min Son is with South Korea at the Asian Games.
The reports follow on from confirmation on Wednesday that Malcom has been left out of the squad for Thursday’s Copa del Rey second leg against Levante.
He started the first leg last week, in what was only his 10th appearance for Barcelona since joining, but was substituted after 67 minutes by Denis Suarez.
