The captain looks in great shape

Barcelona held their traditional open door training session on Friday, and Lionel Messi showed no signs of rustiness after the Christmas break.

The captain found the back of the net straight from the goalkeeper’s throw with a rather gorgeous volley.

Barcelona will be back in action on Sunday at Getafe when they play their first La Liga fixture of 2019.

The games then come thick and fast with a trip to Levante in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, followed by Eibar in La Liga on Sunday.
