Pep backs ‘spectacular’ Valverde at Barcelona

The Man City is happy for Valverde to continue

Pep Guardiola has become the latest person to back under-fire Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde and is happy that he will continue at the Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and president Josep Maria Bartomeu have all shown their support for Valverde after damaging defeats to Liverpool and Valencia.

Pep, who reportedly had a lunch date with Valverde after the end of the season, has now given his view on the 55-year-old.

“Valverde seems to me, to be a spectacular coach, beyond the friendship that unites us. He has done a very good job in two years.

“It is true that Valverde lost twice in the Champions League, we all lose. A team that wins two consecutive league titles and makes good football, I celebrate that he continues.. Barcelona is still true to its style. “

Valverde’s position at the club appeared to be in some danger after the team finishing a highly-promising season with just the league trophy, although Bartomeu has reportedly insisted the coach’s job is safe.
