Barça travel to San Mamés, Bilbao this Friday (9.00pm CEST) for the opening game of La Liga 2019/20 against Athletic Club. It’s the tenth time the Catalans have faced the Lions in their debut fixture, and in such games to date have won six, drawn two and lost just once, way back in 1949.

In the last training session, first team player Neto suffered a bruise on his left wrist. The tests have diagnosed a scaphoid bone fracture. The treatment to follow, and the time the player is out for, will be determined on Monday.

Neto to undergo surgery on hand this Tuesday | FC Barcelona
Goalkeeper Neto is to undergo surgery this Tuesday on a fractured scaphoid bone in his left hand sustained in training while on the US tour. Doctor Xavier Mir will perform the operation in the presence of the Club Medical Services. Afterwards, he will make a statement to explain how the surgery has gone and to offer an approximate recovery date.

Training schedule before the start of La Liga | FC Barcelona
After the tour of the United States, this week the Blaugrana will step up their training before playing their first league game of the new season, taking place next Friday, August 16, against Athletic Club (9.00pm CEST) at San Mamés.
