Riqui Puig shines in Barcelona friendly win
The two clubs were raising money on Wednesday night
Barcelona ran out 2-0 winners in their fundraising friendly against Cartagena on Wednesday thanks to goals from Carles Perez and Alejandro Marqués.
The game against the Second Division B side was arranged to raise money for victims of the catastrophic flooding in Murcia in September that affected around 30,000 people.
Manager Ernesto Valverde was without most of his top names due to the international break but still named a pretty strong starting line-up. Neto, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto, Junior Firpo and Ousmane Dembele all featured.

Obviously it was a friendly which meant plenty of substitutions, starting from the 36th minute, but surprisingly no goals in the first half.
Indeed Barca had to wait until the 64th minute to break the deadlock through Carles Perez with Riqui Puig picking up the assist.

The second goal came with just two minutes of normal time remaining. Sergio Akieme crossed in from the left for Marqués to sweep home from close range.

Obviously you can’t take too much from a game such as this, but Riqui Puig was the star of the show and Carles Alena (remember him?!) showed he hadn’t forgotten how to play football despite his lack of playing time this season.
