The player is linked with an exit from the Camp Nou

Riqui Puig is unhappy with his current role at Barcelona and is open to an exit in the next transfer window, according to Catalunya Ràdio.

This story comes as no surprise as the player had publicly hinted at a possible exit. Puig apparently is not happy with his lack of participation in the first team, which could be seen as backwards movement after he did get some time last season. He has been plying his trade with Barcelona B, but there have been some concerns that he may get injured after facing many third division teams who went after him with tough - some would say cynical - challenges.

Manager Ernesto Valverde was coy when asked about Puig, telling the media that the midfielder would become a regular for Barcelona - some day.

Puig is one of the Barcelona academy’s biggest talents, and it’s clear they would not want to let him go permanently before he had made an impact on the first team. The possibility of a loan exists for that reason.
