Barcelona to meet with Lautaro Martínez’s agents - report
Ivan Rakitić and Arturo Vidal are also the subject of speculation over a possible deal with Inter Milan
Lautaro Martínez’s agents will meet with FC Barcelona this week, as Inter Milan are set to take on the Catalans in the UEFA Champions League, it has been reported.
Argentina’s Diario Olé claims his agents Beto Yaqué and Rolando Zárate are traveling to Milan to take advantage of the fact that Barcelona will be in town. The report states Inter do not want to let the Argentine striker go, but a buyout clause, rumored to be around 111 million euro, could force their hand.
And Barcelona-based Mundo Deportivo writes that Inter are interested in two of Barcelona’s midfielders: Ivan Rakitić and Arturo Vidal. Vidal, in particular, could be edging closer to a move. He almost signed for Inter from Bayern Munich before ultimately landing in Barcelona. Now, he has stated publicly that he is open to a move unless he plays more.
Diario AS has also written a story involving possible deals being discussed between the clubs this week with Martínez, Vidal, and Rakitić on the agenda. There is also a story in SPORT about Inter being interested in the midfield pair.
Perhaps there is something there, although MD warns that Martínez would certainly not arrive in the winter transfer window. Rather, he could make his move in the summer. Vidal, on the other hand, might make a move in the middle of the season. That the Chilean would be part of a swap deal that would lower the asked fee for the Argentine striker is not out of the question, either.
Rakitić as of late has recovered his starting spot and looks more likely to stay, though the same cannot be said of Vidal.
Keep an eye on this story, as it might start to become interesting.
