Perez says Barca kids will triumph if they’re good enough
Goals from Perez and Ansu Fati knocked Inter out of the Champions League on Tuesday
Carles Perez could not hide his delight after scoring on his Champions League debut for Barcelona in their 2-1 win over Inter at the San Siro on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old opened the scoring with a clinical finish in the first half, while 17-year-old Ansu Fati struck the winner late on after coming on as a substitute.
The win knocks Serie A leaders Inter out of the competition, and Perez says the youngsters’ goals are proof that La Masia kids can still thrive at the Camp Nou.
“I was thrilled to make my debut in the Champions League - to play, and score in this mythical stadium is a dream.”
“It was tough for us to get a foothold in the match but once we scored I think we controlled things.
“He [Ansu Fati] has got an incredible talent, I guess he and I are examples for the kids in our academy - Barça trust their kids. If you’re good enough you’ll triumph here.”

Moussa Wague, Carles Alena and Jean-Clair Todibo all started against Inter and shone, although Riqui Puig was part of the travelling squad but unfortunately didn’t even make the bench.
