Barca discussing swapping Rakitic for Bernardeschi - reports
The window is open and the rumors keep on coming
Barcelona are having discussions with Juventus about swapping Ivan Rakitic for Federico Bernardeschi, according to a variety of reports.
Mundo Deportivo report that Juventus have brought the topic up once more now that Quique Setien has replaced Ernesto Valverde in the Camp Nou hotseat.
AS are also running the same report and reckon that Rakitic has already given the “green light” to a move to the Serie A champions.
The Croatian is said to have agreed personal terms, although Juve and Barcelona are yet to agree on a fee and Bernardeschi is also yet to say yes.
Reporters in Italy are also on the case. Gianluca Di Marzio says the two clubs discussed this deal last summer but are hoping they can find agreement this time around.
Rakitic started the season on the bench but did find himself back in the team towards the end of the year while Arthur was sidelined with injury.
It remains to be seen if Rakitic will be a big part of Setien’s plans, although the headlines this week have suggested Riqui Puig is likely to be the big winner of Setien’s appointment.
