Barcelona confirm they won’t sign a No. 9 in January
The club will stick with what they have got
Barcelona confirmed on Thursday that they will not be signing a new striker to replace the injured Luis Suarez in the January transfer window.
The Spanish champions have been linked with a host of players since Suarez underwent knee surgery but have been unable to complete any deals.
Guillermo Amor, the club’s director of institutional relations, has said the search is now over and the club will not be bringing anyone in before Friday’s deadline.
He said: “Closing the market tomorrow night, there were no optimal options to track a good negotiation to help the team.”

Barcelona’s only fit forwards currently are Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi and 17-year-old Ansu Fati, although Ousmane Dembele should return to action in the next few weeks.
