The new boss was happy with his team’s performance

Quique Setien declared himself content with Barcelona’s performance after watching them beat Granada 1-0 in his first game in charge of the club.

The hosts dominated the 90 minutes, notching over 1000 passes, but had to wait until the 76th minute for Lionel Messi to net the only goal of the game.

Setien said his team need to be more clinical in front of goal but was pretty happy with Sunday night’s work from his men.

”I’m content because we only conceded one shot that wasn’t a chance really in the first half and the shot against the post in the second, that came from a lost ball. We did a lot of good things. Now I hope to gain fluidity and accuracy in front of goal.

”It’s not easy when teams sit back so much but we have to look for alternative ways to do damage. The players have to take on four or five concepts that are important and maintain them through the whole game.”

The win sees Barca back to the top of the table and is a good start to life at the Camp Nou for Setien. Next up is a trip to Ibiza in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
