The defender wants the team to move on after a tough week

Gerard Pique says Barcelona’s dressing room is “as united as ever” after a testing few days that ended with the club being knocked out of the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

The club have lost Ousmane Dembele to long-term injury, have seen Lionel Messi and Eric Abida embroiled in a way of words, while there have also been rumors of a training ground squabble between Messi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Pique offered his view after the 1-0 defeat at San Mames and says the team need to move on and keep improving on the pitch.

“Everyone knows what they have done well and what they have not and now we must keep working. We need to stop biting our nose to spite our face because that won’t help us,” he said.

”We built this club on victories and we must do that again. We are working towards doing that, we are playing better, we’re adapting to the ideas of the coach and the dressing room is as united as ever.”

Pique was forced off with injury during Thursday’s match but said afterwards it was not serious, although he will get a breather over the weekend in any case because he’s suspended for the trip to Real Betis.
