Indications point to Bayern Munich not keeping the Brazilian

Several big clubs are in for Philippe Coutinho, at least according to the latest batch of transfer rumors. The Brazilian is a Bayern Munich player, on loan from Barcelona. The Germans have an option to purchase the player, but early reports seem to indicate that they are not interested in exercising that clause. Instead, the player will return to Barcelona.

The Catalans know they’ll probably never recoup his entire transfer fee, but rumors suggest they are willing to part with him for the right price. In England, they say Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in the possibility. They think Barcelona will allow him to go for around 90 million euro.

Bayern are said to prefer signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, a player that is also liked by Jürgen Klopp. Liverpool could turn their attention towards a reunion if they miss out on Havertz.

Meanwhile in France, there is talk that Paris Saint-Germain could be in for Coutinho. Barcelona reportedly offered Coutinho, Ivan Rakitić, and a sum around 40 million euro for Neymar last season. That offer was rejected, but the report says PSG’s sporting director, Leonardo, is still interested in Coutinho.

Barcelona will be hoping Coutinho impresses down the stretch for Bayern, luring several big clubs into a bidding war in the process. There is also the possibility of him being used as a makeweight in another pursuit of Neymar. Finally, there is the option of Coutinho returning to Barça and staying.
