The names now being linked to join Barcelona outside the transfer window - report
Cristhian Stuani, Lucas Pérez, Borja Iglesias, and Ángel Rodríguez might be on the table
Four names have been rumored to interest Barcelona as they seek to add to their forward line after the injury to Ousmane Dembélé. Barça can make a signing outside of the transfer window as an emergency replacement if a player is injured for more than 5 months. This can only be a player who plays in the Spanish system and he may only play in domestic competitions.
Cristhian Stuani (Girona), Lucas Pérez (Alavés), Borja Iglesias (Real Betis), and Ángel Rodríguez (Getafe) have been linked in the media with Barcelona.
Stuani has been linked by several reports. The Girona forward has a release clause of 25 million euro, but the signing is impossible, according to ESPN, because of the relationship between Girona and Manchester City.
Pérez has a release clause of 15 million and Barcelona are said to already be in touch with him over a possible signing.
Iglesias has been mentioned as a possibility although the latest report says that his signing could be “complicated.”
The other possibility is Ángel. Many reports have put him as one of the likeliest, alongside Pérez, to sign with Barcelona. Getafe’s sporting director, Ángel Martín, even said that the team was “ready to face Ángel’s exit.”
His cost is said to be 10 million euro to pay his release clause. One report, however, says that Getafe’s president is not yet taking Barcelona’s interest seriously, because it could be a smokescreen to draw attention away from Éric Abidal’s statements which annoyed Lionel Messi.
