Barca director says Maia will join and hopes Luzzi follows
The club have offered an update on the youngsters
Barcelona director Xavier Vilajoana, who is in charge of Barca and youth football at the club, has been talking about potential new arrivals and offered updates on Gustavo Maia and Fabian Luzzi.
The Catalans have already purchased an option to sign 19-year-old Maia from Brazilian side Sao Paulo, and Vilajoana told Sport they will go through with the deal.
He said: “We will fulfil the agreement we had. He’s really skillful and could give us a big boost.”
Barca have until the end of the month to sign Maia permanently, and he is expected to join up with Barca B once the deal has been completed.
Barcelona are also being tipped to land promising youngster Fabian Luzzi from Rayo Vallecano.
The youngster has been linked with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, and Vilajoana was asked directly if the club will buy him.
He replied: “We hope so ... we always follow good players and he is, with goals.”
