Barcelona reject Manchester United’s 150m bid for Ansu Fati - report
Man U is desperate for the prodigy
FC Barcelona has rejected Manchester United’s second bid for Ansu Fati, worth up to 150 million euro, according to a new report.
Rumor has it that the Catalans had already turned down 100 million for him from United, and it seems the Red Devils were not giving up and boosted their bid much higher. But the report says that Barcelona was unmoved and said no again.
The additional 50 million is not guaranteed but based on performance-based variables.
Fati has a release clause of 170 million, but Man U would have to pay it all in one go. And that’s only if the player himself agreed to the switch.
The winger does not turn 18 until this October and has set records for being one of the youngest to ever perform in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona reportedly have no intention on selling the crown jewel of their academy, but United, as well as several European powerhouses, will attempt to pry him away. They are banking on the Catalan team’s need for cash, particularly after the onset of the pandemic, to convince them they need the huge cash injection Fati would provide.
