Barcelona’s post-coronavirus schedule revealed
La Liga will be back
Barcelona return to football this weekend as they take on Mallorca, as La Liga starts up once again following an extended break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Eleven more matches are left in which the Catalans will try to defend their two point lead over Real Madrid atop the league table. Five are at home and six are away, although it is to be seen how a lack of fans in the stands changes the dynamics of that.
After Mallorca away on Saturday, Barça take on Leganés at home on Tuesday. Three days later, it’s away to Sevilla, and four days after that, at home to Athletic Bilbao.
Then there is something of a break, as the Catalans get five days before facing Celta Vigo away, on the 28th of the month. A huge match comes next: at home to Atlético Madrid on the first of July. Then, it’s away to Villarreal on the fifth, before hosting the Catalan derby against Espanyol on the eighth.
Four days later, it’s away to Real Valladolid, and three days after that, at home against Osasuna. The league ends with a match three days after, away against Deportivo Alavés.
Barcelona are still pending their second leg against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, to be played at home. It is understood that the Champions League matches will all take place after the conclusion of the league season.
