Instagram captures show the player at a gathering that broke social distancing rules
Nélson Semedo seemingly broke coronavirus safety protocols by attending a birthday party of a local tattoo artist, in images found by Spanish media.

The pictures and video show Semedo and other party-goers at a restaurant without wearing masks and not following social distancing rules. Spanish media claims the party was attended by 19 people, without counting waiters and other staff who were also present. Gatherings larger than 10 people are currently banned.
The tattoo artist in question is Juan D. Castaño, who has put ink on the Barcelona fullback in the past and is now a personal friend of his as well.
The images taken from Instagram have since been deleted, with Castaño linking to a YouTube video created by his friend, Adrián Sánchez, in their place.
In the video, Sánchez says the press has been unfair to both Semedo and Castaño. First, he says that only 10 people were at the table, and any other people pictured were either waiters or strangers from other tables who took the chance to get close to a Barcelona star.
Secondly, he says that the press should have respected his friend’s privacy more, insinuating that this story is a way to attack Barcelona on the part of Madrid-based media.
This incident follows a controversy after three players from three different teams landed in hot water after reportedly breaking protocols. Real Madrid’s Luka Jović, Atlético Madrid’s Ivan Šaponjić, and Getafe’s Nemanja Maksimović were spotted enjoying a barbecue together that landed them in trouble for not following rules.
