The Bundesliga side asked about a loan
Barcelona have reportedly turned down an approach from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for 17-year-old starlet Ilaix Moriba.
According to reports in Germany and Spain, Julian Nagelsmann’s team wanted to sign the teenager on loan for next season but were told no by sporting director Eric Abidal.
Moriba is contracted to Barcelona until 2022 and has a release clause set at €100 million.
RB Leipzig look set to for a busy transfer window. They have already confirmed Timo Werner will join Chelsea, while there are still rumors Dayot Upamecano will also leave.
The club’s managing director Oliver Mintzlaff has said they won’t spend big when it comes to signing a replacement for Werner.
Meanwhile, Moriba has managed to force his way into the Barcelona B team this season, making nine appearances, and his first goal for the team certainly caught the eye.
