The last home La Liga game of the season

Barcelona are at the Camp Nou in La Liga for the final time on Thursday on a night where it’s looking like they might relinquish their title.

Quique Setien’s side still need a result in case Real Madrid do slip up and also to build some momentum ahead of the return of the Champions League in August.

Let’s look at how they might line up:

Defence

Barcelona don’t have too many issues at the back. Jordi Alba reportedly missed training on Tuesday which means Junior Firpo could get a rare start at left-back.

Samuel Umtiti will miss out again with Setien admitting after the Real Valladolid win that the club’s doctors have no idea when the Frenchman will return.

Ronald Araujo should be available if needed, although Barca B will also want him for their promotion play-off at the weekend.

Midfield

Frenkie de Jong is expected to make his return from injury on Thursday and make just his second appearance in La Liga since the competition resumed in June.

Riqui Puig is also pushing for a start, while Sergi Roberto could get the nod again after impressing in midfield recently under Setien.

Attack

There’s no Antoine Griezmann because of injury which should mean good news for Ansu Fati and Martin Braithwaite.

Setien has also admitted that Lionel Messi needs a rest, although it’s unlikely the captain will be left out of the starting XI.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Lenglet, Junior: De Jong, Busquets, Roberto; Messi, Suarez, Ansu.
