The striker has urged 1,000% on Napoli

Luis Suarez has admitted Barcelona only have themselves to blame for letting the title slip but is urging his side to go for the Champions League.

Quique Setien’s side finish their La Liga campaign this week with games against Osasuna and Alaves and start the week four points behind Real Madrid.

Barca will then have a brief rest before focusing on the return of the Champions League in August and a last-16 second leg against Napoli.

“We let it escape ourselves. We are aware that we depended on ourselves and do not find any excuse. Now, for our pride and for the prestige of Barça, we have to win the remaining two games and then focus fully on the only title we can fight, which is the Champions League.

“I think we have to be prepared for the demands of what it is to fight for a Champions League. First we have to be 1,000% focused on Napoli and then yes, think about what is coming, we know that it is very difficult but not impossible if we are up to it and perform.

“Physically and technically we are a group that when we want we know that we can fight it. In 2014-15 we had the most difficult part in the knockout stages, quarterfinals, semifinals and in the final with Juve in Berlin and we pulled it off. Now there are other circumstances, but we know that when things get difficult, we can perform at our best.2

Barcelona do have a tough draw in Europe. If they do get past Napoli then they will play either Bayern Munich or Chelsea, with the Bundesliga champions in great shape to progress after a 3-0 first-leg win at Stamford Bridge.
