FC Barcelona are six for their last six in European finals
Barça's last defeat in a continental championship game came against Sevilla in 2006 Super Cup
If you were to look up 'Recent European titles' in the encyclopaedia, you might find an entry that simply reads: See FC Barcelona.
That's because with Tuesday's victory over Sevilla in Tbilisi, Georgia in the 2015 UEFA Super Cup Final, the Catalans have run their impressive European finals winning streak to six.
FC Barcelona have now won three UEFA Champions League titles and three European Super Cups — that's six continental championships in the last six years. Barça won both titles in 2009, 2011 and 2015.
In fact, the last time the team lost in a continental final was back in 2006, when they fell to Sevilla in the Super Cup by a score of 3–0. That defeat, which came in Monaco, was the only time Barça have fallen in their last ten finals appearances. Before that, the team had won both the 2006 Champions League and Super Cup and the 1997 Cup Winners' Cup
Prior to today's phenomenal streak the previous record was four, corresponding to the Club's first four finals played between 1949 and 1960, when it won two Latin Cups — in 1949 and 1952 — and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups, which came in 1958 and 1960. Not counted as official continental titles are Barça's four straight Pyrenees Cups between 1910 and 1913.
