Arsenal said to be favorites to land Philippe Coutinho
The Gunners would take him on loan
Philippe Coutinho is close to leaving FC Barcelona on loan to Arsenal, according to a new report, which says the Catalans will receive a loan fee of about 10 million euro.
The player’s wages would be shared, in a deal that is said to be in an advanced stage.
Suggestions that Mattéo Guendouzi would be included as part of a swap for the Brazilian have cooled, as Barcelona reportedly are most interested in getting a maximum return for their record signing.
Coutinho is still on loan to Bayern Munich, although it is understood the Bavarians will not use their buy option on him. Thus, he would be returned to Barcelona. Some rumors have suggested the Catalans would be willing to keep him in the team, but that has died down after the coronavirus economic crisis hit.
Now, it’s understood Barcelona desperately wants to sell him to raise funds to do transfer business once the window opens.
