A new manager brings fresh rumors

Ronald Koeman hasn’t even been installed as Barcelona manager yet but that’s no bother for the rumor mill which has jumped into action ahead of his arrival at the Camp Nou.

According to le10Sport, Koeman is already thinking about which players he’d like to bring with him to Barcelona and is pretty keen on Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.

The 23-year-old has previously been linked with both Real Madrid and Manchester United but those rumors have faded recently.

Van de Beek spoke about his future recent in an interview with Fox Sports:

“It is very messy, in any case a very messy period in terms of transfers. Nothing is certain yet. I am still a player of Ajax and I am still proud to be there.

“If there had not been the coronavirus, it might have been different now. There is no clarity now and we have to wait and see how it turns out.

“I’m still here and after all these years I still have a lot of fun. If I also play at Ajax next season, I still have a lot of fun. You won’t hear me complaining.”

Koeman has obviously worked with Van de Beek with the Netherlands national team, while a move to Barca would see him link up with Frenkie de Jong again.
