Following a disappointing loss away to Getafe over the weekend, Barcelona return to action just three days later for the first Champions League match of the season, against two-time defending Hungarian champions Ferencváros at the Greatest Stadium on Earth.

The last time we saw Barcelona play under the bright lights of Europe’s top competition, they were completely destroyed by Bayern Munich in Lisbon and the last few months have been all about trying to rebuild a nearly broken club.

Ronald Koeman has come in with many new players and the team seems to be headed in the right direction, though they’ve only won half their games so far in this young season. A Champions League title this season sounds impossible right now, but you just never know in Europe and a strong victory against the weakest team in Group G would be a good start to what could be a magical road to redemption.

Let’s dance.

POSSIBLE LINEUPS

Barcelona (4-2-3-1): Neto; Dest, Araujo, Lenglet, Firpo; Pjanic, De Jong; Trincão, Coutinho, Ansu Fati; Messi

Ferencváros (4-3-3): Dibusz; Lovrencsics, Blažič, Kovačević, Ćivić; Sigér, Kharatin, Somália; Zubkov, Isael, Nguen

PREDICTION

With all due respect to the Hungarian champions, this should be an easy night for Barça to gain confidence for El Clásico: 5-1 to the good guys, Messi hat-trick.
