Barcelona turn attentions back to the Champions League

Ferencvaros are up next on Tuesday at the Camp Nou

Barcelona were back at the training ground on Sunday for a gentle recovery session after their disapponting defeat to Getafe with thoughts now turning to the Champions League.

Hungarian champions Ferenvcaros are up next at the Camp Nou in a match Barca will be expected to win pretty comfortably.

Ronald Koeman made changes to his team for the trip to Getafe and more are expected on Tuesday night as Barca kick off their European campaign.

Jordi Alba is expected to miss out again in defence, while Koeman will need to ponder how to get the best out of his misfiring attack which has scored just once in two games.

There’s also the small matter of El Clasico at the weekend which is also likely to have an impact on Koeman’s team selection for Tuesday.

Ferencvaros booked their place in the group stages, for just the second time, by coming through qualifying and beating Djurgårdens IF, Celtic, Dinamo Zagreb and Molde.

The team are currently top of the Hungarian league after five games played and are yet to taste defeat. They’ve won four, drawn one and scored 12 goals.

Barcelona and Ferencvaros have never met in a competitive match and only two players in the visitors’ squad, Róbert Mak and Oleksandr Zubko, have ever played in the Champions League group stages before.
