The Spain boss is backing the youngster

Spain boss Luis Enrique has offered his thoughts on Ansu Fati after seeing the Barcelona star ruled out for four months after undergoing knee surgery.

The 18-year-old went under the knife on Monday after picking up the injury during the weekend’s 5-2 win over Real Betis at the Camp Nou.

Fati’s injury means he’s also out of Spain’s forthcoming games against the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany, but Lucho’s backing him to get back to his best.

“Regardless of how old you are, injuries are part of football. It is a sad moment but he will overcome it. He will be the old Ansu again.”

It seems we won’t see Barcelona’s young star in action again until March 2021 at the very earliest. Although looking on the bright side it does mean he will be available for the business end of the season.
