Barça squad named for Granada
Ronald Koeman has called up 20 players for Wednesday’s quarterfinal
The next Barcelona match is upon us! The Blaugrana travel to beautiful Andalusia for a one-off Copa del Rey quarterfinal tie against Granada, and Ronald Koeman has called up the following 20 players for Wednesday’s game:
Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 13. Neto, 36. Arnau Tenas
Defenders: 2. Sergiño Dest, 4. Ronald Araujo, 15. Clément Lenglet, 18. Jordi Alba, 20. Sergi Roberto, 23. Samuel Umtiti, 28. Óscar Mingueza
Midfielders: 5. Sergio Busquets, 8. Miralem Pjanic, 12. Riqui Puig, 16. Pedri, 21. Frenkie De Jong
Forwards: 7. Antoine Griezmann, 9. Martin Braithwaite, 10. Lionel Messi, 11. Ousmane Dembélé, 17. Francisco Trincão
There’s some pretty good news for this one as the squad starts to get healthier: Sergiño Dest is back after missing the last week with a muscle injury, and only Ansu Fati (knee), Gerard Piqué (knee) and Philippe Coutinho (knee) miss out through injury, with Fati and Piqué expected back sooner rather than later. Matheus Fernandes and Junior Firpo do not make the trip per the manager’s decision.
Predicted starting XI (4-3-3):
Neto; Roberto, Araujo, Lenglet, Alba; De Jong, Busquets, Pedri; Trincão, Messi, Griezmann
The match kicks off at 9pm CET/WAT (Barcelona & Nigeria), 8pm GMT (UK), 3pm ET, 12pm PT (USA), 1.30am IST (India, Thursday), and you can join us to follow and comment all the action.
