Another away trip in La Liga

Barcelona’s relentless schedule continues on Sunday with a trip to the Benito Villamarin in La Liga to take on Real Betis.

Both teams head into the match after being forced to play extra-time in midweek in the Copa del Rey. Barca enjoyed a crazy comeback win over Granada, while Real Betis were beaten on penalties by Athletic.

Let’s look at who might feature:

Defense

Barcelona still have a few injury problems in defense with Sergi Roberto out again with a recurrence of his thigh injury. Gerard Pique returned to training this week but is still a little way off a return.

Sergino Dest made his comeback off the bench against Granada and could continue at right-back, although Oscar Mingueza is also an option if there are any doubts about the youngster's fitness.

Mingueza is also an option at center-back if Ronald Araujo needs a breather ahead of some crucial games against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Clement Lenglet may come back into the team in place of Samuel Umtiti, while Jordi Alba looks set to continue on the left after playing a starring role in the midweek win.

Midfield

Koeman may have one eye on next week’s trip to Sevilla in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey which could make for changes in midfield. Frenkie de Jong is in superb form but has played a lot and could be given a rare break.

Miralem Pjanic and Riqui Puig are both eager for starts and are options in midfield. Puig made a difference again in the win over Granada off the bench and could be in line for his first La Liga start of the season.

Attack

Ousmane Dembele looks set to start in attack after being given a bit of a breather in midweek, while Antoine Griezmann looks fairly undroppable given his continued excellent form.

The World Cup winner has seven goals and six assists in his last nine appearances for Barca and is enjoying perhaps his best spell since joining the club. Lionel Messi should captain the side once again.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Dest, Araujo, Lenglet, Alba; Busquets, Pjanic, Puig; Dembele, Messi, Griezmann.
