Francisco Trincao was a happy man after scoring a superb winner in Barcelona’s 3-2 win over Real Betis in La Liga on Sunday.

The youngster has been finding it tough to really make an impact at the Camp Nou after his summer move from Braga but opened his account in some style against Real Betis.

Trincao admitted he was happy to finally get his name on the scoresheet after the match in a victory that makes it six in a row for Barca in La Liga.

“I didn’t need it, I was just doing my job, defensively and offensively, and if it’s with goals, the better. I am very happy for the victory.

“In the second half we changed our attitude and that was the important thing for the victory. In the first half, both teams were afraid to take risks, in the second we risked more, and we won.

“I work every day to help the team. I have to try to shoot more, today I shot and I was lucky, I received a lot of encouragement and my teammates congratulated me after scoring the goal because I had been looking for this goal for a long time.”

It was a nice moment for Trincao who had been a little unlucky not to score before now having gone close in his last few games. His spectacular goal should give the youngster plenty of confidence and comes at a good time with some key games up ahead.
