Araujo misses Barcelona’s Champions League trip to PSG
The defender is not risked
Barcelona will have to cope without center-back Ronald Araujo once again for Wednesday’s trip to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
The Uruguayan international did take some part in Barca’s training session on Tuesday morning ahead of the clash but has not been included in the travelling squad.
It’s a blow for Ronald Koeman’s men who are also without Gerard Pique due to a knee injury.
The Barca boss offered an update on Araujo in his pre-match press conference.
“We’ve spoken, we talked to Ronald in the last training sessions and I think maybe we did force his comeback too soon and we don’t want to do that again, make the same mistake. We want him to train with the team and if all goes well he might be available for Monday.”
Barca now have Clement Lenglet, Oscar Mingueza, and Samuel Umtiti available as center-backs for the game. All three started against Osasauna at the weekend, although Umtiti came off at half-time.
