The Catalans are into the final of the Copa del Rey

Ronald Koeman was understandably delighted with his team after seeing Barcelona beat Sevilla 3-0 at the Camp Nou to pull off a remarkable comeback and reach the final of the Copa del Rey.

Goals from Ousmane Dembele, Gerard Pique and Martin Braithwaite did the damage, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen also proved crucial with a penalty save.

It was a fine team performance throughout from Barcelona, and Koeman was full of praise for his men after the final whistle.

”We fought to the point of exhaustion, we deserved the victory, we were better in both games, I am very satisfied. We were lucky in the last minute, but the team did well until the end, they believed and we we deserve victory.

“The team is very strong physically and mentally. You have to fight, you have to create opportunities, you have to have the ball. What the team has done is incredible.

“We must highlight the ambition of the team, we have always believed in coming back. It is a mentality that we are improving and as a coach I cannot ask for more than what I have seen tonight.”

“Sevilla is like that, despite having a 2-0 record, they have tried to pressure us, score a decisive goal. It’s their mentality, I like a coach who always looks for a goal because I don’t believe in defending a result.”

It certainly was a great result and a great night for Barca. The club will discover who they will face in the final tomorrow when Levante and Athletic play their second leg. The tie is all square at 1-1 after the first game at San Mames.
